The option Restore File Type Associations of the Scense Client fails for a specific file extension, after the user has applied a File Type Association with Windows Explorer for that specific extension.
For example:
When a user changes a Scense File Type Association for .pdf files to Adobe Reader in stead of Scense by making changes at the properties page of a .pdf file, this change is not reverted by the option Restore File Type Associations.
Workaround
The workaround for Windows 7:
- Remove the registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer
FileExts.<ext>UserChoiceProg Id - Select the option Restore File Type Associations at the Scense Client
The workaround for Windows XP:
- Remove the registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorer
FileExts.<ext> - Select the option Restore File Type Associations at the Scense Client
